Crime In The Area

Here is a link to a recent police report about a shooting in the Cheltenham area.

It's really terrible when these kind of things happen, but at least I can help the community by letting them know about recent crimes in the area so that they will be better prepared in case something happens.

Please Be Aware!

The message below was received from a concern citizen, and is being passed on to alert others. ____________________________________________________________________________ MPNA Member Foils Local Assault [I promised not to reveal the victim's name] I am a member of the MPNA, and I wanted to notify you, that, last night (December 21), as I was running in the La Mott area, right around Beech and Sycamore, a man tried to attack me. I fought him off successfully and screamed loudly, so he ran away. The police came but they were unable to find him. Sadly, I screamed for help numerous times and no one came out of their house to help. I think it would be really beneficial if the La Mott and Melrose Park area neighbors are aware that there is a man on the prowl, and to reconsider walking/jogging alone at night. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious people and activity immediately, to Police, via 9-1-1. Anyone with information on any of this incident is encouraged to contact Cheltenham Township Detectives at 215-885-1600 ext. 499

2012 Income Tax Forms Are Now Available At The Library

I know that there is a big push by the IRS for people to file their taxes online but not everyone wants to do it that way - including myself!

The tax forms are now available at the LaMott Library. I can say this from personal experience because I just picked up some of them a few days ago. The 1040 forms are available as well as other tax forms that you may need such as Schedule C form. This is a form that I need because I work from home and am self-employed but there are other tax forms available if you need them.

I know that there are some that may consider filing their taxes online much more easier but there are just some cases where you may feel that you want to fill out and file your taxes using the paper forms and mailing it in and fortunately our local library has the forms available for you if you need them.

Better hurry though because April 16th (April 15th falls on a Sunday) will be here sooner than you think!
